Intuit Canada 

Starting April 30, 2002, Intuit Canada will no longer support online features for Quicken 1999 and older versions.  This includes online banking downloads and external information (e.g. stock related news).

HOW WILL CUSTOMERS BE NOTIFIED?

 Starting in February 2002, customers will be notified in 3 ways:

  • In-product intercepts: there will be messages in Quicken 1999 beginning Friday February 22, 2002.  These intercepts will lead to an informational landing page hosted by Intuit.
  • Financial Institution on-line banking pages: some banks will be providing a link to Intuit’s landing page via a message such as “Important information for Quicken 1998-99 users.”

·         Direct contact: Intuit Canada will be sending emails to 1998 and 1999 users.

·         Quicken Support website: will provide some information and FAQs about the changes.

 

After April 30, 2002, customers who attempt to download banking information into Quicken 1999 and older will receive an error message “unable to verify financial institution information for this download”.  The in-product messages listed above will continue to be present.

 

 

  

 

 

 

 


 

 

   



CAN CUSTOMERS CONTINUE TO USE QUICKEN 1999?  
Yes.  You can continue to use Quicken, and manually enter bank transactions.  Or, you can upgrade to Quicken 2002 and continue to use online banking - plus benefit from Quicken 2002’s many new features.   

WHAT ARE THE UPGRADE OPTIONS?  
Intuit is committed to making the transition as easy as possible by providing special discounts and offers on Quicken 2002 to customers using Quicken 1999 and older versions.  Special offers can be found at quickenstore.ca by entering promotion code 2066-786 - save up to $30.  Plus, upgrading to Quicken 2002 is seamless and easy.
  

WHY HAS INTUIT MADE THIS CHANGE?
This change will ensure that Intuit will be able to focus on leading-edge technology and feature advancements for Quicken customers.
  

WHAT ABOUT USERS OF OTHER VERSIONS?
Intuit Canada’s policy has been, and continues to be, to guarantee all online services within Quicken, including bank transaction downloads, for a period of 1 year from product release. After 1 year, Intuit Canada cannot guarantee the availability of these services due to technological, operational, or 3rd party changes that may affect these services.
